Re: Interesting...

No...I totally need to rant...I was just going to spare everyone from the misery but here goes nothing... emoticon

I'm taking summer school this summer and working too. Well I'm used to balancing both school and work, but since summer school is only one class at a time I figured summer would still be a vacation compared to the school year.

I work part-time at a department store. Now as "part-time" they can *technically* work you anywhere between 15 and 32 hours a week. When school is in (regular session), I prefer closer to 15, but during the summer I can handle 20-25. I've been getting 15-20 all summer, of course until I actually STARTED summer school and now I'm getting like 38. emoticon (they can slip by and work me that many, as long as I *average* 32 or less).

Well for one thing, I hate my job so 38 is too damn much! Plus they don't even write that many on the schedule, but then I get asked to work on my days off. I was supposed to be off this past weekend and ended up working all day both days. Then she called a couple hours ago to ask me to come in early today!!! I totally lied and said I had a dr's appointment. Enough is enough!

It's always busy and I usually work alone in my department, and many times work alone covering *two* departments. It's not a HARD job per se, but it is a frustrating job. We are not allowed to sit down the whole time except on lunch/breaks. When I arrive for my shift, many times there's a list of stuff they want me to do that night, which I could easily get done in one evening, IF THAT'S ALL I HAD TO DO. So if I have to put out stock, I'll get my arms full and head over to the area to hang the stock, and a customer will come up to the register so I have to set them all down. I take care of them and they leave. I pick the stock back up, and another one comes. It's IMPOSSIBLE to get ANYTHING done when I'm working alone.

Then after I'm stuck behind the counter ringing people for an hour, I go clean out the dressing rooms and they're crammed full of clothes people tried on and just left in there. Best case scenario they are all on hangers, but more often they are inside out, thrown in the floor. So I have to make trip after trip until all the rooms are empty, and as I'm walking out with my arms full of clothes, another line has formed at my register. So I have to just lay the clothes in a big pile until all the people have been rung, then hang them, put them back out, and OOPS what about that stock that has to be done?? AAAHHHHHHH!!! I've decided that working there alone is my own personal HELL.

(Damn, I feel a lot better.)

Re: Interesting...

work... i rarely talk about it...i just like to leave that bullcrap at 5 and not think/talk about it till the next day.. but what the hell here goes..

I had three bosses .... one got fired about three weeks ago.. I didn't like him at all.. neither did the president and ceo of the company or anybody else in my department. He always use to open his mouth at meeting and wanted things done his way, wanted to make changes, and tried to be the big boss... so they finally got rid of him about 2 weeks ago. he's about 60 years old. he handled our out of state workers' compensation claims.

Same day I find out that my other boss was being moved to our nj office.. he handles our ny claims and deals with the adjuster... now get ready for his ready...totally wacked out.. About a year ago his crap started he started slamming his door, being rude to people, yelling. Why you ask...cause he IS obessed with this girl from another department. He used to walk by her desk everyday, bring her to his office for lunch (he's 60 also...a jew..6'3...and she's a black girl..about 5'3 in her her thirties from barbados) He was totally smitten with her. One day she wasn't in... and the next day when she did come her co-workers in that department teased her and said her boyfriend was looking for her. She got pissed at him for that, stopped talking to him...and that's when the door slamming and other !@#$ started.. We didnt know why..until months later details were leaked out... Complaints were brought to the attention of personnel and the president and ceo of the company..and finally like i said they moved him to our nj office. He never did anything with her...lol. He just had a bad crush. Told everyone his problem, made everyone a part of it..by trying to get them to tell her he was miserable...it was so messed it..

So that brings us to my 3rd boss..the main guy.. dealt with managerial stuff.. more than anything else..here's his story. He had a cancerous tumour in his neck.. went out on disability and came back after a month totally healthy. The poor guy came back to all this bullshit.. we all use to complain to him about the two of them...He had to deal with the big bosses stuff..but he shrugged it off...he totally stopped caring about the problems after his scare which is understerandable. I wouldn't care about anything else either. The big bosses always use to tell him he was doing a bad job.. They were never happy with him... He did his best with the whole situation....but today he found out that he is being demoted. He moved his stuff to the fired guy's office..and they hired a new guy to be the new manager. Somebody nobody heard of... from some japenanese/korean firm it sounds like. Could be bad for me or good... i'll find out on monday... I was looking at the monster.com website..looks like they have plenty of job opportunities if i need to find a new one. emoticon

oh yeah..and there's this guy i like at work to. He's been there for only 2 months. He came from the military. We flirt. I've never been so excited to go to work in the past 5 years i've been there than i have in the past 2 months. emoticon I think he likes me back. we throw stuff at eachother, tease eachother, For the past couple days i noticed whenever i'm talking to another co-worker in his office..he'll come by..and say "stop flirting with him in front of me..your making me jealous" lol. We'll exchange quick glances at eachother. it's cute. it's totally high schoolish. lol He'll piss me off...just to hear me yell at him.. He's 28..his name is Jason... Just like my brother jason who is also 28..wierd coicendence ain't it. but has a 1 year old boy with his ex girlfriend..: that's the only downer about it. Some days I think something could happen with me and him.. some days i don't cause of the kid..and plus he's too much of a wiseguy.. emoticon The ultimate prank/lie he pulled on me was that he told me he was Sebastian Bach's cousin. I don't know why i believed him on that one...i guess I liked him so much i wanted to believe it was true. but i emailed sebastian and of course he confirmed they were not cousins.
I was pissed at him the whole day for that one. He knew it to.. He apologized.. after that incident.. he's done less pranks since then..

..that was my mindless babble sorry..
